Our History

Prins Trucking, Inc. was established in 1938 by William (Bill) Prins who started the trucking business after having a farming accident. For 12 years Bill trucked locally and lauled livestock, feed, seed, grain, and machinery with his 1936 Ford. In 1950 Bill applied for a Interstate Commerce Commission permit and began hauling for Purina out of Minneapolis, MN and Sioux City, IA. Bill passed the trucking business down to his son Gary in 1968 who incorporated the business in 1988. By this time the business had expanded to where a full time dispatcher was hired.

In 1991 the business, which was run from the home farm, was moved to Worthington, MN. A dry can division was added in 1993 and brokerage authority was granted in 1994. Gary eventually passed down the business to his son, Jerrit and daughter, Sherrie, who have been honored to begin the third generation family business.
